Westside Community Schools names Superintendent finalists

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Westside Community Schools is one step closer to having a new Superintendent. Over the weekend, the board of education named four finalists.

Three of the four cantidates are already working in Nebraska.

Dr. Jeffrey Geihs is the Assistant Superintendent with Clark County Schools, Dr. Mike Lucas is the Superintendent at York Public Schools and Dr. Melissa Poloncic is the Superintendent of Douglas County West Schools.

The out of state candidate is Dr. Rick Robins is the Superintendent of Juab Schools in Utah.

All four will be invited to tour the district and meet parents on Jan. 17 and a final announcement is expected Jan. 21.

Dr. Blane McCann, who has been in charge of the district since 2012, is retiring at the end of the school year.
