When it comes to turning right on red, in some areas it's allowed and others it is not.
But one problem area on 72nd Street is frequently ignored and one resident has an idea for a solution. Tom Fennell says too many people ignore the "no turn on red" sign near the intersection because it is too far away.
So, when it comes to turning north on 72nd Street off I-80, he says something brighter may be better, suggesting flashing yellow lights.
"With them having those flashing yellows at all the signs, people would stop, look, and turn," Fennell said. "You don't need a sign that far away and nobody looks at it."
Omaha Police say the sign can't be ignored because every intersection with a "no turn on red" has it there for a reason.
