Winter Storm Outlook

Chief Meteorologist Jennifer Zeppelin has the latest timing, totals, and impacts we're expecting from the snow and wintry mess headed our way!

SNOW TIMING: Snow will move into the Omaha metro before the morning commute begins. The wind will also start to pick up from the southeast. By the Friday morning commute, widespread snow and wind are expected to impact the region and will continue into the lunch hour as warmer air starts to move in. This will get us to freezing by the afternoon, switching the snow into a wintry mix, including some freezing drizzle/rain at times. Friday night, we return to a wintry mix and snow before everything ends early Saturday morning.

SNOW IMPACTS: Expect snow-covered roads at times Friday and into early Saturday morning. The snow and wind will combine to reduce the visibility for drivers, making travel more dangerous. Road crews will also have to fight blowing snow getting back onto already cleared roads.

SNOW TOTALS: Accumulations will range from 3-5 inches across Omaha with slightly higher totals possible farther northeast, and lower totals expected southwest of the Omaha metro.
