A head-on crash in western Iowa claimed the life of a 74-year-old woman.

About 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, Lifenet flew to the town of Modale, Iowa, just north of DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge in Harrison County.

The Iowa State Patrol confirmed Marie Bryan from Mondamin, Iowa, tried to pass two semi-trucks on Austin Avenue. Her Nissan Rogue hit a Chevy Trailblazer head-on.

Bryan died at the scene. Paramedics took Deborah and Scott Davey of Modale to the hospital by medical helicopter.
