A Glenwood, Iowa woman has been charged in the death of a child last October.
On Monday, Mills County prosecutors charged 34 year old Misty Dawn Frazier with Child Endangerment Resulting in Death, and Distributing a Drug to a Minor without a prescription.
On October 19, 2016, paramedics were called to a home on Walnut Street in Glenwood for an unconscious and unresponsive 8 year old girl. The child was taken to Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs where she died.
Upon review of the preliminary autopsy report, the Mills County County Attorney's Office, Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, and Glenwood Police opened an investigation into the childs' death. Frazier was taken into custody without incident.
Frazier remains in the Mills County Jail on a $35,000 cash only bond pending an initial appearance before a magistrate.
