The woman who sustained "massive internal injuries" in an accident with a forklift Wednesday afternoon died Thursday as a result of her injuries, Omaha Police reported.
Chestrina G. Wilson-Gibbs, 30, was riding in a brown 2007 GMC Acadia driven by Randy Davis, 42, of Omaha, when the SUV collided with a large Terex Handlers forklift near 30th and Burdette streets.
Davis, who police say fled the scene immediately after the accident, was booked into Douglas County Corrections, according to an OPD press release.
Davis is facing charges of leaving the scene of a personal injury crash and inflicting serious bodily injury while driving while under the influence, according to the Douglas County Attorney's Office, the release states.
Davis had sustained injuries in the crash, but was released from Nebraska Medicine.
