Lincoln Police arrested a woman who stole a beer truck and led police on a chase that ended on UNL's East Campus.
Police say 38 year old Danna Hespen climbed into the truck and locked the doors at the Kwik Shop near 7th & W around 5:30 Wednesday morning while the driver was making a delivery. When police arrived, Hespen drove off and hit one police car. During the chase Hespen almost hit another officer. Police say they terminated the pursuit and Hespen later crashed through a fence and into a ravine.
Officers arrested her for DUI, assaulting an officer, fleeing to avoid arrest, and auto theft. There was $13,000 damage to the police car and UNL property, and unknown damage to the beer truck and contents.
