A Pottawattamie County Sheriff's Deputy and a civilian who were shot in Monday's inmate escape are now out of the hospital.
Deputy Pat Morgan and Jerry Brittain were released from Nebraska Medicine on Friday. Investigators say Morgan was shot at the same time as Deputy Mark Brubridge when Wesley Correa Carmenady tried to escape from the Pottawattamie County Jail on Monday. Brubridge later died from his wounds.
Brittain was shot shortly afterward when Carmenady allegedly tried to carjack his truck.
