OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — This week, the YMCA of Greater Omaha got a call from an anonymous donor that wanted to contribute.
While the YMCA gets anonymous donations all the time, it turns out the donation came from billionaire MacKenzie Scott. She was formerly married to Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos.
"It was a transfer to our bank account," said YMCA of Greater Omaha President and CEO Chris Tointon. "And that account went from zero to beyond zero like that."
The donation is much needed. The YMCA of Greater Omaha has been hit hard by the pandemic, to the tune of more than $6 million in revenue.
