Omaha's youth sports community remembers a coach tonight who is credited for touching dozens of young lives.
Alonzo Mitchell's family confirms he died late Friday night.
Mitchell - better known to many as "Mitch" - was memorialized on a Facebook tribute page.
He worked to help juvenile offenders for Douglas County.
He also served as a club director and coached the eighth-grade girl's basketball team for TNE United Basketball.
His family released this statement: "Mitch was an amazing man, son, brother, coach and positive role model in our community."
