Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds says state is up to 16 positive cases

DES MOINES, Iowa (KMTV) — Thursday afternoon, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds said there are now 16 positive cases of the coronavirus in the state, including two new cases.

According to the Iowa Department of Public Health, both new cases are tied to the same Egyptian cruise as other positive cases. Both are older adults (61 - 80 years old), one is from Johnson County and one is from Carroll County. Both are recovering at home in isolation.

Reynolds will be holding a press conference on Friday to discuss ongoing and future coronavirus measures being taken at the Iowa's State Emergency Operations Center. The conference is scheduled at 1:30 p.m. in Johnston, Iowa.
