A Flagstaff, Arizona police officer was recorded on camera punching a woman during an altercation, and the department is investigating.
According to a Facebook video, a Flagstaff Police Department officer was seen striking a woman in the face with a closed fist. The officer has been identified as Jeff Bonar. Bonar has been placed on administrative leave.
The Flagstaff Police Department became aware of the video on Wednesday evening. They say the officer was trying to arrest the woman Wednesday afternoon.
Officials said the woman "who appears somewhat uncooperative was struck in the face by the officer."
"Our agency is very concerned by what is depicted in this video," Sergeant Cory Runge with the department said. "We are immediately initiating an internal investigation into this incident.
