Skyler McKinley with AAA said, “What we’re seeing right now is that airlines are entering into this travel slump which is the period between Thanksgiving and Christmas.”
This travel slump is great for you and your wallet, because AAA is seeing 10 to 40 percent off flights in 2018.
The majority of people traveling this holiday purchased their flights weeks ago, so there currently are not many customers booking trips in the New Year. It doesn’t matter where you want to go. You will find a great deal today.
When it comes to scouring the web for the best deals, download the app ‘Hopper.’ It not only finds the best deals, but it tells you the best time to buy.
Roundtrip deals on national and international flights on Hopper include, a nine-day trip from New York to Paris in February for $357 dollars.
You can fly from Los Angeles to Honolulu for a week in February for $299.
And a trip from New York to Los Angeles in January is just $241 roundtrip.
“We advise travelers if you are flexible and can go to any location at any date that’s how you can really save a lot of money and that’s what we’re seeing here,” McKinley said.
