NASHVILLE, Tenn. — As Middle Tennessee begins the clean-up process following a deadly tornado overnight, there are several ways to help those affected by the storms.

The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee says it has activated the Middle Tennessee Emergency Response Fund to support the affected communities and the nonprofits who are helping victims address their needs. Click here to donate .

"We know when disasters strike, there are no quick fixes," said Ellen Lehman, the president of The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. "We need to support the affected communities and the nonprofits on the ground, helping victims, and addressing their needs."

The Community Resource Center is also accepting donations, specifically personal hygiene items, bleach, trash bags, gloves and box cutters.

Hands On Nashville is also accepting volunteers. You can sign up by clicking this link .

The United Way of Rutherford and Cannon counties is offering a giving opportunity by clicking here . Donations may also be made by texting RELIEF2020 to 41444 to give via mobile. They say 100% of funds will support relief efforts.

The Disaster Distress Helpline 1-800-985-5990 can also provide immediate counseling to anyone in need of help coping with the mental or emotional effects of the storms. The Helpline is a 24-hour-a-day, seven-day-a-week, and free resource.

The storm moved through overnight, killing at least 20 statewide and injuriing hundreds more.
