PetSmart recalls dog treats, cites mold

Posted

Retail chain PetSmart has issued a voluntary recall of a certain dog treat brand sold in its stores.

The recall, according to the company’s corporate website, applies to 4-ounce bags of Nutro Apple chewy treats. PetSmart cites a potential mold issue as the reason.

If you have purchased these treats, which could potentially contain mold, stop feeding them to your dog and return them to a local store, the company said. You will be fully refunded.

The impacted treats reportedly have a lot code beginning with "4 50", "5 02", "5 03" or "5 05,” which can be viewed at the bottom of the bag.
