This weekend you and your family can learn and see snakes and reptiles up close and free at the Snakes of Nebraska event July 22-23 at Eugene T. Mahoney State Park near Ashland.
The free event organized by Nebraska State Parks will run 10 a.m.-4 p.m. each day at Riverview Lodge. Snakes will be on display and University of Nebraska-Lincoln herpetologist Dennis Ferraro will give presentations at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. each day. A park entry permit is required.
Lindsey Theis got an up close look at some of the snakes that will be at the event. Watch the video above to see which ones she held.
