LSU's starting pitcher Alex Lange now leads the nation with 150 strikeouts after his eight-strikeout performance against Oregon State Friday.
Lange allowed one run and just two hits through eight innings. His eight strikeouts against the Beavers nudged his career total to 406, just two away from the LSU record.
Lange led the Tigers to a 3-1 win over Oregon State forcing them into a winner-takes-all game Saturday. Not only did LSU advance in the College World Series but then ended the Beavers 23-game winning streak.
LSU will take on Oregon State in a rubber-match for a spot in the championship series Saturday, June 24th.
