Creighton baseball fans will have to wait another week to see their team in action at TD Ameritrade Park. CSU Bakersfield and the Bluejays have mutually agreed to cancel Creighton's home opening series due to weather concerns.
This weekend's forecast calls for freezing conditions throughout the weekend with the possibility of snow Saturday. Creighton Head Coach Ed Servais and CSU Bakersfield Head Coach Jeremy Beard said the conditions would likely be unplayable. The series will not be rescheduled.
Creighton said tickets for this canceled games can be redeemed for any remaining regular season home games at the Creighton Ticket Office located inside the Ryan Athletic Center (open 9:00 am to 4:30 pm on weekdays) or at the TD Ameritrade Park Omaha Box Office on game days only starting one hour prior to first pitch.
The home season for the Bluejays will now begin March 17 with a series against Utah Valley.
