The Creighton men's basketball team has just matched its highest ranking in the AP Top 25 in school history. The Bluejays are up to No. 9 in the AP Poll for the first time in almost three years.

The last time the Bluejays were ranked ninth was Feb. 24, 2014 after the team started 23-4 in its first season in the BIG EAST conference. Creighton is one of four BIG EAST teams ranked in the Top 25, with Villanova at No. 1, Butler at No. 13 and Xavier at No. 17.

"I'm obviously very proud of the guys," Creighton Head Coach Greg McDermott said. "To start the season in the Top 25 and consistently work our way up the polls means we're playing good basketball. Hopefully it can continue and we can play a good game at Arizona State."

Creighton heads to Arizona State Tuesday to take on the Sun Devils in Creighton's final game before conference play begins. Tip off is scheduled for 8:05 p.m.
