The Creighton volleyball team upset No.12 seed Michigan in a five set win of 24-26, 25-21, 17-25, 25-20, 15-7. After being down 2-1 going into the third set the Bluejays fought back taking the last two sets for the victory.
The Bluejays became the first team in history to open an NCAA Tournament with three straight five-set victories.
"Yeah, we are really doing really good in five sets but I'm really tired of going to five sets. I don't know, something changes, something clicks and everyone just has the right mindset.
Creighton's Jaali Winters led Creighton with 21 kills, 25 digs and four blocks.
Creighton (29-6) advances to the quarterfinals where they will face No.4 seeded Texas Saturday, December 10th. The match is set to begin at 7 p.m. at the Gregory Gymnasium in Austin, Texas.
