The Nebraska baseball team fell to Penn State after the Nittany Lions rallied from down two in the bottom of the ninth to win 8-7 in the first game of this weekend's series. The Huskers fall to 32-18-1 in regular season play and 14-7-1.
The Huskers held a two-run lead heading into the bottom of the ninth, but couldn't hold on. The Huskers committed four errors in the game, two of which came in the bottom of the final inning. Penn State scored three runs on two hits to complete the comeback.
Angelo Altavilla led the Huskers at the plate with three hits and two RBI. Chad Luensmann picked up the loss on the mound for Nebraska, allowing three runs on two hits in 1.1 innings. Luensmann moves to 3-4 on the season.
Game two of the weekend series between the Huskers and Penn State is slated for Friday at 5:30 p.m.
