Nebraska baseball secured a series victory on Saturday afternoon on the road in Bloomington, IN with a 3-1 win over Indiana. The Huskers go for the series sweep tomorrow against the Hoosiers.
NU recorded double-digit hits for the fourth straight game, outhitting Indiana 10-5. Jake Schleppenbach hit the first home run of his Nebraska career on Saturday in his 437th career at bat. The Huskers also got a pair of hits from Ben Miller.
Senior Derek Burkamper earned the win and evened his record this season, now at 2-2. Burkamper pitched five innings in his sixth start of the season, and has now gone at least five innings in each of his last three starts.
Nebraska is now 15-10 overall this season and 2-0 in the Big Ten. The series finale between the Huskers and the Hooisers is Sunday morning at 11 a.m.
