Nebraska baseball defeats Omaha 3-1

The Omaha baseball team hosted Nebraska for an in state matchup at Werner park Wednesday night. 

Nebraska didn't waste anytime in the first inning with a single from Scott Schreiber bringing home Jake Meyers.

The Mavs answered with an RBI single by Parker Smejkal to bring home Ryan Cate tying the game 1-1 in the second inning. 

Nebraska broke the tie scoring off a wild pitch in the top of the seventh inning. The Huskers topped off the win in the ninth inning with a RBI to make it a 3-1 game.

Omaha (6-22) hosts Western Illinois Friday, April 7th at 4:00 p.m.

Nebraska (17-10-1) faces Maryland Friday, April 7th for a weekend series at Hawks Field. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m.
