Nebraska baseball hangs on for win over Cal Poly

Posted

Jake Hohensee threw a career-high 6.2 innings as the Nebraska baseball team hung on for a 3-2 win over Cal Poly Thursday night.

The Lincoln East alum allowed just one run on three hits.

The Huskers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first thanks to a throwing error by the Mustangs' pitcher and a passed ball.

Ben Miller made it 3-0 in the top of the 6th with an RBI double scoring Jake Meyers.

The teams will meet once again Friday for game two of the four game set. First pitch is set for 4 p.m. Central time. The contest was originally scheduled for 8 p.m. but rain in the forecast moved the start time up.
