Nebraska drops 2nd straight to Iowa

Posted

For the second straight night at Hawks Field at Haymarket Park, Nebraska baseball fell to rival Iowa, this time by a score of 5-3.  The Huskers had the tying run at the plate in the bottom of the ninth inning, but were unable to put together a late charge to beat the Hawkeyes.

With the largest crowd in attendance since 2015, Husker fans saw Iowa score all five of its runs with two outs, while the first four hitters in the Hawkeyes' lineup went 7-for-18 from the dish.

Nebraska falls to 20-13-1 overall this season and 4-3-1 in Big Ten play.  The Huskers and the Hawkeyes wrap up the weekend series Sunday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 2:02 p.m., televised on Big Ten Network (BTN).
