On Wednesday, the Big Ten office announced that, starting in 2017, the league would feature six Friday night games throughout the season.
Those games would be televised on either an ESPN or Fox network as a part of the league's new media rights deal.
Wednesday afternoon, Nebraska officials confirmed to OmahaSportsInsider.com that Memorial Stadium could potentially play host to a Friday evening game in the future.
"(Nebraska) will be hosting one game over a three year period if selected by the networks," said Nebraska Senior Associate AD for Marketing and Communications David Witty, in an email to OSI's Joe Quinn. "This game would be played in September or October."
Nebraska and Iowa have played on the Friday following Thanksgiving for the past several seasons. The league's announcement of Friday evening games does not include that matchup.
Other schools, such and Michigan and Penn State, have made it publicly known they do not intend to host Friday night games.
