Nebraska head coach Mike Riley updated the injury status of a couple of key Huskers, talked Oregon and Northern Illinois and more during his weekly Monday press conference.
Riley said that linebacker Luke Gifford "will be ok", while both safety Josh Kalu and right tackle David Knevel are doubtful.
Probably the most significant injury news came when Riley said that running back Tre Bryant didn't sustain any new injury, and that he will be assessed again later in the week.
Riley has noted Bryant's knee issues earlier in the season, saying that after games it "swells up" to where he needs a few days of rest.
Riley said that Bellevue West running back Jaylin Bradley will get some work on special teams this week and will probably work into the rotation with the running backs, especially if Bryant can't play Saturday. This means Bradley's red shirt will be burned.
As far as the status of running back Devine Ozigbo, Riley said he hasn't seen the field because the Huskers have not rotated backs like they have in past years.
As far as his team getting up for an 11 a.m. game against Northern Illinois, Riley said his team should "look at the tape and be sick" and want to get out on the practice field to get better.
The Huskers will take on Northern Illinois Saturday at 11 a.m. in Memorial Stadium.
