Nebraska used touchdowns on all three of its first-half drives to jump on Illinois and cruise to a 28-6 win. 

Those three touchdown drives 75, 88 and 89 yards respectively. 

De'Mornay Pierson-El opened the scoring by taking a slant 45 yards, then Devine Ozigbo broke a tackle at the 3-yard-line to get into the end zone on a 15-yard run and finally Tanner Lee found Tyler Hoppes in the flat for a 6-yard touchdown with 1:23 left in the half. 

Overall, Lee was 17-for-24 for 246 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions. The third touchdown pass coming on a 23-yarder to Stanley Morgan Jr. at the beginning of the fourth quarter.

Morgan finished the night as the Huskers leading receiver, going for 96 yards on eight catches. 

Ozigbo carried the load rushing finishing with 18 carries for 106 yards. He was spelled by Mikale Wilbon, who rushed 13 times for 60 yards. 

Overall, Nebraska outgained Illinois 413-199.
