Riley, Lee like what freshman receiver Tyjon Lindsey brings to the field

With several key departures at the wide receiver position, new faces will need to step up this season for the Huskers. Freshman Tyjon Lindsey could answer that call. The 5'9" four star prospect was Nebraska's highest ranked recruit in the 2017 class. Although the Big Red has yet to begin practice, Lindsey earned high praise at Big Ten Media Days from head coach Mike Riley.

"With his ability, we've got to push him and coach him hard and try in every way to get him comfortable to play," Riley said. "We've got to get Tyjon involved in some fashion."

Nebraska's new quarterback Tanner Lee has worked with Lindsey during summer drills and was also impressed.

"He's really fast, that's for sure," said Lee. "I think you can tell right away he's a natural football player. Just kind of gets it. He has soft hands. He's anxious to learn. When camp starts, he doesn't want to be behind because he doesn't know something. I think he wants to be able to impress the coaches and go full speed and get on the field."

Lindsey will wear #1, the same number as former Nebraska wide out Jordan Westerkamp, when the Huskers start fall camp on Sunday in Lincoln.
