Huskers Sweep New Hampshire in NCAA Opener

The top seed in the NCAA tournament, Nebraska volleyball began its national championship defense with a first-round sweep of New Hampshire on Friday night at the Devaney Center.  The Huskers dominated the first set to win 25-9, rallied in the second for 25-23 victory, and finished off the Wildcats 25-18 in the third set.

Sophomore Mikaela Foecke led the Big Red with 13 kills in the match, while senior Kadie Rolfzen added 12 kills of her own. Junior setter Kelly Hunter also posted 40 assists, eight digs, and three kills.

With the win, Nebraska advances to the second round and a meeting with TCU Saturday night at the Devaney Center.  First serve of the match is set for 7 p.m.
