Nebraska volleyball took to the podium ahead of their matchup with No. 4 seeded Texas in the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament. The Huskers head back to the Final Four for the second consecutive year after sweeping No. 7 seeded Washington in the regional championship.
Nebraska Head Coach John Cook said he is proud of the way his team has dealt with expectations this season after winning the National Championship against Texas last season.
"This group has done an amazing job of preparing and working hard and overcoming the expectations of the pressure to get back to a final four," Cook said. "We have a target on our back. So just very proud of our team, and I know this is a great area for volleyball in Ohio and Columbus. And so we're looking forward to a great tournament."
The Huskers and the Longhorns have developed a bit of a rivalry since Nebraska swept Texas in the National Championship last season. However, middle blocker Amber Rolfzen said the Huskers will try to keep the focus internal as opposed to worrying about what Texas is doing.
"Yeah, Texas and Nebraska are always the big rivalry," Amber Rolfzen said. "They always will be. It's always a really great game. And this just comes down to -- I think we don't necessarily focus on the other side that much. It's always if you got your side together, good team chemistry, you play hard, good effort, you can always have a good outcome. But we're ready for the Texas match tomorrow."
