Nebraska women's basketball took visiting Minnesota to overtime at home Saturday night at Pinnacle Bank Arena, but the Huskers couldn't hang on in the extra session, falling to the Gophers, 79-69.
The Huskers rallied from an 11-point first half deficit, making game-tying shots three, separate times in the final 1:35 of the game, including a jumper from Jessica Shepard with just seven seconds left that sent the game to overtime tied at 66.
Three Huskers scored in double figures Saturday night against Minnesota. Senior Allie Havers tied a career high with 18 points, Shepard added 14 points, and Jasmine Cincore finished with 10 points. Minnesota's Carlie Wagner led all scorers with a game-high 28 points.
With the loss, Nebraska falls to 5-18 overall this season and just 1-10 in the Big Ten. The Huskers are back on the floor Thursday with a visit to Wisconsin.
