The UNO hockey team fell to No. 1 Denver 4-2 Friday. Denver scored the first goal of the game taking a 1-0 lead early in the first period. Omaha answered with a goal scored by Mason Morelli to tie the game up at 1-1 with just under 11 minutes to go in the first period.
The Mavericks and Pioneers both scored in the second period to go into the third period tied at 2-2. In the third quarter Denver capitalized on two boarding penalties 10 seconds apart by the Mavericks. Due to the 5-3 advantage the Pioneers scored a goal to take the lead 3-2.
Denver scored its final goal of the night at 9:56, beating the Mavs 4-2.
Omaha ends the weekend series against No. 1 Denver Saturday, March 4th at 7:07 p.m.
