The Omaha men's basketball team defeated UMKC 80-75 Thursday. The Mavericks fought back after a 35-32 deficit at halftime.
Marcus Tyus led the team with 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting along with three rebounds and four assists. Zach Jackson added 15 points, six rebounds and a steal, while Daniel Norl also finished in double-figures with 10 points.
As a team the Mavericks shot .517 (15-of-29), including 6-of-10 from 3-point range, to pull away in the final 20 minutes.
Up next, Omaha faces off against Cal State Fullerton Sunday, December 18th. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. at Baxter Arena.
