Omaha men's basketball team falls to Fort Wayne 108-101 in overtime

The Omaha men's basketball team suffered a 108-101 overtime loss to Fort Wayne Saturday night. 

Mavericks' Tre'Shawn Thurman recorded his team-leading sixth double-double of the season with 24 points and 14 rebounds. Four other Mavericks finished in the double-figures including Marcus Tyus, Tra-Deon Hollins, Mitch Hahn and Zach Jackson.

Fort Wayne led 50-39 at half but Omaha made its way back within the first few minutes of the second half. The Mavericks took their first lead at 57-55 with 14:13 remaining. The game was sent into overtime with the game tied up 92-92. 

The Mastodons 10-0 run in the extra period along with shooting 4-of-5 from the floor to Omaha's 1-of-9 over the last five minutes helped seal the win 108-101. 

Omaha (13-13, 6-7 Summit) returns to action Thursday Feb. 16th as they host Oral Roberts (8-19, 4-9 Summit). Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. at Baxter Arena.
