Derrin Hansen announced Monday that forward Tre'Shawn Thurman will not play basketball for the Mavericks next season. Hansen said Thurman has decided to play his senior season elsewhere.
Hansen released this statement regarding Thurman's decision:
"Tre'Shawn Thurman has informed me that he intends to play his senior season elsewhere. I thanked him for his hard work at Omaha and how he has represented our program on and off the floor. We respect Tre'Shawn's decision, and we wish him success in his future endeavors."
Thurman, a former three-time state champion at Omaha Central, averaged 13.8 points-per-game and 7.8 rebounds-per-game his junior year. The Omaha native helped lead the Mavs to a Summit League Tournament Championship game, just one win shy of an NCAA Tournament bid.
