The Nebraska wrestling team is ranked seventh in the preseason USA Today/NWCA Division I Coaches Poll. The Huskers return All-Americans TJ Dudley and Eric Montoya along with seven NCAA qualifiers from last year's team.
Last year the Huskers finished eighth at the NCAA Championships and fourth at the Big Ten Championships. Dudley captured runner-up honors at 184 pounds at the 2016 NCAA Championships and Montoya finished fifth at 133 pounds in the national tournament.
The Huskers open its 2016-17 season this weekend with the Coaches Clinic/Intrasquad Friday at 4 p.m. at the Devaney Center.
