Three Husker wrestlers captured weight class titles at the Warren Williamson/Daktronics Open on Sunday.
Two-time All-American TJ Dudley (184) opened his season with a perfect 3-0 mark in South Dakota. Dudley managed two technical falls and one major decision. Returning NCAA qualifier Tyler Berger tallied four consecutive wins to claim the 157-pound weight class title. He earned one technical fall and defeated his other three opponents by decision. True Freshman Chad Red (141) defeated fellow Husker Colin Purinton in the finals by a 5-3 decision. Red opened his tournament with two pins, and went 5-0 overall.
The Huskers return to action Sunday, November 13th for the Harold Nichols Cyclone Open at Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa.
