As always, Friday night was a busy evening of high school hoops. In Class A, Northwest hosted Burke. The Huskies led after the first quarter thanks to a half-court buzzer beater courtesy of Derek Mayhue, but the Bulldogs began their comeback in the second quarter and went on for the 68-56 win.
Elsewhere in Class B, it was a top ten tilt with Skutt Catholic hosting Beatrice. The Skyhawks' Christian Banker scored 13 points in the first quarter alone, and Skutt never looked back, picking up the 72-61 win.
And on the girls' side Friday night, it was another top ten tilt between Millard West and Lincoln Pius X. A close game heading into the fourth quarter, but the Wildcats pulled away for the 41-35 victory.
