Millard North girls basketball hadn't been to the state tournament since 2013. On Thursday night, the Mustangs changed that, closing out Omaha North late to claim the district title, 57-55.
Tied at 55 with about 30 seconds left, Millard North's Lexi Kraft knocked down some clutch free throws to propel the Mustangs to the victory. Lauren West led Millard North with 14 points and sophomore Nicole Avila-Ambrosi added 13 points.
The girls state basketball championship in Lincoln begins Thursday, March 1.
