Omaha Skutt made it all the way to the Class B state title game last year. The Skyhawks could return to Memorial Stadium in 2017 with all of the talent coming back. Matt Turman's team returns four starters on offense and nine on defense.

"I think expectations are always high here," Turman said. "I think that's an expectation to have a playoff run. I think we have the kids to have that opportunity."

One of those returners is linebacker and fullback Jake Archer.

"I feel like we're going to be a pretty solid defense," Archer said. "We've got a lot of experience. I'm excited to see how good we actually are."

Skutt faces Omaha Gross in the season opener on August 25.
