The top ranked Omaha Marian survived a tough test in its season opener holding off 3rd ranked Papillion-La Vista South in four sets on Tuesday night at Titan Arena.
Papio South won the first set, 25-19, but it was all Crusaders after that taking the next three sets 25-17, 25-18, 25-21.
Senior Maddie Wiedenfeld led Marian with 16 kills in the victory.
