Papillion Police complete investigation into child's death

PAPILLION, Neb. (KMTV) — The Papillion Police Department says it has completed an investigation into an incident that left a 10-year-old girl dead after she was hit at a crosswalk. The incident happened in front of her younger brother and shocked the community.

The investigation results of 10-year-old Abby Whitford's death have been forwarded onto the Sarpy County Attorney's Office they say.

She was struck by a vehicle being driven by 19-year-old Masey Lawrence, just after school at about 4 p.m. on August 20, 2019.
