Country star Russell Dickerson and wife Kailey have welcomed their first child together. Remington Edward Dickerson was born on Sept 10. The couple wed in 2013 and announced that they were expecting in April 2020.

Their marriage predates Dickerson’s fame: the singer, 33, became a musical sensation in 2015, following the release of his single “Yours.” His debut album from 2017 is also called “Yours.” The two met at Belmont University, where they were part of the school’s vocal performance program.

In an April 15 tweet, Kailey expressed her excitement about their forthcoming bundle of joy:

“Welcoming Baby Dickerson to the world this Fall!!!” she wrote. “There are no adequate words to say how thankful and thrilled we are to be parents!! no surprise, @russelled is already the cutest dad in the history of dads!” She linked to an Instagram post showing off her baby bump as she sat beside her husband.

In June, they announced that the baby was a boy.

On Sept. 11, the new dad took to Twitter to share the good news, writing, “BABY RD IS HERE!!!!!! I’m so excited to introduce the newest member to the #RDFam, Remington Edward Dickerson.”

He shared the link to the People story announcing the baby’s birth, adding, “Thank you @people for helping us share the news” along with a blue heart emoji.

“I’m freaking out in the best way. It’s like nervous excitement, of like nervous about how this is all going to actually happen,” the country singer told ET in August on the prospect of becoming a dad. “We already got him the little baby headphones for side stage. Got him his little denim show jacket. He’s ready.”

How sweet!

In August, the couple shared photos of the baby’s nursery with People.

“We wanted his room to feel like his own happy camping retreat in the forest,” the expectant mom told the magazine. “Our home is full of light wood tones so I really wanted to find a green that coordinated with the wood to give it a really casual, earthy feel.”

Father-to-be Dickerson added that one of the first things he looked forward to doing with their son was to take him camping, and his room has that feel.

Congrats to the couple! We can’t wait to see more pictures.
