OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The Sarpy County Sheriff's Office hosted its first ever gun, ammo, fireworks amnesty day Saturday.
The amnesty day event ran from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sarpy County Sheriff's Office.
People could drop off firearms, ammunition and fireworks to be disposed of with no questions asked.
The sheriff's office collected: 40 firearms, 296 lbs. of ammo, and 72.5 lbs. of fireworks.
The event was put on with the help of Omaha Police Department.
