OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The rain and wind Saturday afternoon didn't stop shoppers from flocking to the stores. “That's why I came 'cause I knew it would be quiet,” said shopper, Sarah Zeleny.
To check off their holiday lists. “Teachers, coaches, those are gonna be checked off here. Maybe a couple things for my kids for stocking stuffers,” said Zeleny. “We got some clothing and some kitchen stuff,” said shopper, Noelle Williams.
Some didn't mind a little chill in the air. “I know exactly what I need so I don't mind the weather,” said Zeleny. ”We enjoyed the break in the weather from the rain this morning and before the snow hit this afternoon,” said Tammy Williams.
Beth Olsufka and her sisters also didn't mind getting a taste of winter as they carried out a family tradition. “We do a sister shopping trip every year and so this is our annual sister shopping trip with our mom,” she said. “Just keep bundled up and keep running from store to store and we're good to go,” said her sister, Melissa Dirks.
While some were surprised at just how busy the stores were, others might have opted to stay home. “The parking lot was fuller than we anticipated,” said Williams. “I don't think it's as busy today because the weather might have kept people home,” said shopper, Katie Greisen.
Many who braved the rain, wind and snow said it would take a lot more to cancel their holiday enjoyment. “Who cares if it's raining and snowing or sleeting we still have tons of fun,” said Dirks.
