The Girls State Basketball Tournament entered the semifinal phase on Friday. Five local teams in Class A and B had a chance to punch their tickets to the state finals. In class A Millard South was upset by Lincoln East 57-47 in double overtime. Also in class A Millard West took out Bellevue West 61-45. In class B Platteview saw their undefeated season come to an end at the hands of Waverly. And second seeded Elkhorn South earned a trip to the finals by beating York.
