KANSAS CITY, Mo. — It's no secret that Kansas City is known for barbecue more than any other cuisine. There's also not a bigger fan of burnt ends than Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid.

"Now listen, there's not a barbecue place that I don't like here," Big Red said last year after word got out. "I haven't met one burnt end or rib that I didn't like. But listen, we went to Q39 and I had a craving for a burnt ends, I wasn't joking."

Fresh off the plane from Miami after a thrilling Super Bowl LIV victory, Reid made Q39 in Midtown Kansas City his first stop.

41 Action News is committed to covering the whole story — and, well, barbecue is no different. So anchor Dia Wall sampled the Andy Reid Special: burnt ends, mac and cheese, onion straws and a Diet Coke.

As the Chiefs head to Tampa to defend their Super Bowl title, there's no telling if Reid will be back to Q39 after Sunday's big game.

If he does stop by, though, chef Rob Magee says they'll be ready for him.

"I always say don't mess with tradition, so we're going to have that ready for Andy when he comes back and make sure Tammy (Reid) is taken care of at the same time," Magee said.
