LINCOLN (KMTV) — Nebraska football wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson is entering the transfer portal after two seasons with the Huskers.

The sophomore made the announcement on Twitter Monday afternoon.

In his post, Robinson said his mother had recently contracted COVID-19 & had been hospitalized.

For that reason, the Kentucky native said he wishes to play closer to home.

Robinson led NU with 51 catches for 461 yards in 2020. His 696 all-purpose yards was also a team-high.

The sophomore ranked 3rd in the Big Ten & 21st nationally averaging 6.4 receptions per game.

In 2019, Robinson set Nebraska true freshman records with 40 catches for 443 yards.
