OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The Michigan Wolverine baseball team continued its improbable run at the 2019 College World Series as they defeated Florida State 2-0 in front of a crowd of 23,541 fans at TD Ameritrade Park Monday evening.
The Wolverines took an early 1-0 lead with a Jesse Franklin home run in the first inning. The Wolverines added a second run in the fifth off a single by Jimmy Kerr. Michigan's pitcher Tommy Henry through a complete game shutout, allowing three hits and striking out ten batters.

Florida State's pitching had a strong outing, allowing only two runs off seven hits but the bats stayed quiet for the second night in a row. Mike Salvatore led all FSU players with two hits.

With the victory Michigan improves to 2-0 in the College World Series, while Florida State drops to 1-1 following its loss.

The Seminoles will play next on Wednesday against Texas Tech in an elimination game at 6 pm. Michigan will be off until Friday and will face the winner of the game between Florida State and Texas Tech.
